Children's Privacy / COPPA Notice

GardenVista LLC provides live online educational sessions for children. This notice describes our practices regarding personal information of children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Children do not create accounts

Only a parent or legal guardian may create an account, enroll a child, and make payment. Children cannot register, subscribe, or purchase on this website.

What we collect about a child

• First name (or a nickname the guardian chooses) and age or grade level.
• Attendance and brief teacher notes about learning progress.
• Live audio and video during a session, which is used to teach the class in real time. Sessions are not recorded unless the guardian is told in advance and consents.

We do not ask a child for a last name, home address, phone number, email address, school name, geolocation, photos, or persistent identifiers used for advertising. We collect only what is reasonably necessary to deliver the educational service.

Verifiable parental consent

Before any information about a child is collected, the guardian must complete the enrollment form, affirm that they are the parent or legal guardian, and give consent. Because our service is paid, consent is further confirmed through the guardian's monetary transaction with our payment provider. For any use beyond delivering the class, we obtain separate consent first.

How the information is used

Solely to place the child in an appropriate group, teach the sessions, keep the guardian informed of progress, and maintain safety during class. We never use children's personal information for advertising, profiling, or unrelated commercial purposes, and we do not sell it.

Disclosure

A child's information is visible to the assigned educator and to the small number of staff who administer scheduling and support. We use service providers (for example our video-class platform) that are contractually required to protect the information and use it only to provide their service to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect a child's safety.

No public posting by children

Learners have no public profile and cannot post personal information, photos, video, or audio to any public area of our service. In-class chat is limited to the class group and is moderated by the educator. Work a child shares is visible only to their class and their guardian.

Parent rights

• Review the personal information we hold about your child.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Refuse further collection or use, and withdraw consent at any time.
• Choose to continue in class while declining optional data uses.

Email info@gardenvista.sbs with the subject "Parent Privacy Request". We verify that the request comes from the account guardian, then respond within 30 days. Withdrawing consent entirely will end the child's participation in live sessions, since we cannot deliver the class without basic scheduling information.

Security, retention, and deletion

Children's information is stored with encryption in transit and role-based access limits. We keep it only as long as needed for the educational service and for up to 24 months after the account closes, then delete or anonymize it. Guardians may request earlier deletion.
